Chris is the co-founder of rankinfraser landscape architecture. He is an award winning Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute with over 25 years experience as a Landscape Architect. He studied Landscape Architecture at Edinburgh College of Art, the University of Guelph, Canada and Rhode Island School of Design in the US. Chris completed postgraduate studies in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at the Berlage Institute, Amsterdam in 1997. 

Chris has experience of working across both the public, private and community sectors on a range of scales and types of project including contemporary and historic park and garden design, health, education and public realm. He has experience of the competitive dialogue process, NPD funding models and working for various Scottish Government Hub companies, public bodies and private clients. Chris is a member of Architecture and Design Scotland’s Design Forum Panel advising clients on achieving design excellence as part of the Scottish Government’s Policy on Architecture and a part time lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.
