New High School
Landscape design for a new secondary school on the Isle of Wight. The school is situated in the designed landscape of Northwood Park and the careful siting of the building and retention of several existing mature trees is an important function of the landscape design.
Other elements of the landscape of the school include, a bespoke water feature designed to complement the school building, a bio-diverse roof which echos the chalk grassland in the south of the island, a small orchard reflecting the rich apple growing culture on the island and an ecologically rich SUDS area which extends the teaching and learning experience into the landscape.
