Feasibility Study
Lamar Island Battery is an 18th Century defensive structure overlooking the harbour in Dunbar and the Firth of Forth. Dunbar Harbour Trust commissioned rankinfraser to undertake a study into ways in which the accessibility, attractiveness and interpretation of the structure could be improved as part of a wider initiative to attract locals and visitors to Dunbar Harbour.
After consultation with the trust and local stakeholders a strategy incorporating ecology, public art and historic references was proposed to make subtle improvements without detracting from the special character of the place.
