Wester Hailes Allotment and
Land Use Study
We were commissioned in June 2009 to undertake a strategic study into existing land use in Wester Hailes Edinburgh by Wester Hailes Land and Property Development Trust,
a company set up in 1989 to promote the development of land and assets within Wester Hailes to the maximum benefit of the local community. The specific focus of the study was to identify a range of suitable sites for the creation of new allotments. Since being commissioned the study expanded to include identifying a range of possible projects within Wester Hailes which extend the definition of allotments into community gardens, orchards and new woodland.
