a proposal to transform a run down and intimidating underpass under the m8 in Glasgow into a safe and welcoming connection between cowcaddens and the developing speirs locks area. a new terraced landscape is proposed to contrast with a smooth and continuous surface which combine to increase the actual and perceived spatial quality.
references to the early 19thc. phoenix foundry which used to occupy the site are made through casting the incorporating of original ironwork details into walls and surfaces.
