Experience
Ki Yan graduated with distinction from the University of Edinburgh in 2026 with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture. Her final-year project reimagined a decommissioned limestone quarry in Kraków’s Krzemionki district as a landscape where everyday life, memory, and ecology coexist. Through walking-based fieldwork, she developed placeful and climate-responsive interventions for the proposed quarry park, translating the site's industrial heritage into contemporary landscape experiences.
Before studying landscape architecture in the UK, Ki Yan built a career across Hong Kong’s design, arts and cultural sectors, with experience ranging from workplace design to public art. This interdisciplinary foundation shapes her design perspective and has contributed to the development of both her academic and professional work.
Ki Yan joined rankinfraser in the summer of 2025 as an intern and became a full-time member of the practice in 2026. During her time with the practice, she has contributed to a range of projects, including educational campuses, student accommodation, and public and communal spaces, with involvement in detailed design.
